Perinatal Mental Health Evaluation

Service Description

What is included in this evaluation? Comprehensive 90 minute evaluation designed for people who are pregnant or postpartum up to 6 months. Choose this appointment if you are currently pregnant, up to 6 months postpartum (after giving birth), experiencing mood symptoms like sadness, anxiety, mood swings. If you are concerned about medication use while pregnant or breastfeeding or dealing with difficult feelings about your birth experience. What will we cover? During your evaluation, you will review your mental health history and current symptoms, complete standardized questionnaires, discuss any medications you are taking/considering, address breast feeding concerns, talk about your birth experience, review the risks and benefits of medication options specific to your situation, and coordinate care with your OB/GYN or Midwife. Who will you see? You will meet with a full practice authority board certified Perinatal Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who specializes in caring for pregnant and postpartum individuals. What happens after? At the end of your evaluation, you will receive specialized treatment recommendations including therapy, medication, lifestyle changes, and referrals if appropriate.
